La Ronde Tahitienne partners our Granfondo!
We are happy to announce that La Ronde Tahitienne in French Polynesia is a new partner event of our Granfondo Yunnan Festival! The 9th edition of this exotic cycling event in the Pacific will take place on Sunday, 17 May 2020.
La Ronde Tahitienne is a granfondo event of max 110 km with 1500 metres of elevation gain, and has seen several stars of the cycling world taking part in the event over the past eight years. The race is also part of the Grand Trophee in France, a popular circuit of several similar cycling events a year.
Tahiti is the largest island in French Polynesia, the South Pacific archipelago. Shaped like a figure-8, it's divided into Tahiti Nui (the larger, western section) and Tahiti Iti (the eastern peninsula). With black-sand beaches, lagoons, waterfalls and 2 extinct volcanoes, it's a popular vacation destination. Many people visit Tahiti in combination with a trip to nearby Bora Bora or Moorea.
Benoit Rivals, organiser of La Ronde Tahitienne, will take part himself in Yunnan and will give a presentation of his event and the tourism package options (see below) during the outdoor dinner party after the time trial in Mangshi on Saturday night.
