GFY 24 now open for registration

The 11th edition of Colourful Yunnan Granfondo Cycling Festival is now open for registration. As previously announced, the event is scheduled from 2 to 9 November with departure in Dehong-Mangshi and finish in Xishuangbanna-Jinghong after five challenging stages. People can sign up for all five stages and be part of the general classification and the full tour, or can just sign up for one or more individual stages. As always, every stage has a long distance and short distance category on offer.

The long distance is arguably more challenging than ever given the mountainous terrain in and around the new event cities Lincang-Fengqing, Pu’Er-Simao and Xishuangbanna-Jinghong. Also the first two stages in Dehong-Mangshi and Baoshan-Tengchong now have new courses containing at least one major climb with astonishing scenery along the way. Another onsistent feature of the 2024 edition will be tea and coffee. In particular as we approach Lincang and Pu’Er, participants will be exposed to the fantastic tea culture of the region, with lots of tasting options as well.

Participants are recommended to purchase our travel package along with the race fees for peace of mind. However, it is not mandatory so if you prefer to be independent you can book your own hotels and transportation as well. Still, please note that if you encounter problems , our race technical and event logistics teams have no obligation to prioritise or deal with your case.

When signing up, all registrants are expected to read through the competition regulations, especially if you wish to compete for the podiums and prizes. But also if you just want to score your Gold Finisher Certificate (for finishing all five long distance stages within the cut-off times). When you start the first stage in Mangshi, you are deemed to have understood and accepted the regulations.
